Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the smarter way to run OpenClaw.
General Questions
What is OpenClaw Ready?
OpenClaw Ready is a professionally configured Mac Mini with OpenClaw installed, optimized, and tested. Instead of spending hours installing dependencies, troubleshooting launch errors, or managing a VPS, you receive a system that works out of the box.
Who is this for?
OpenClaw Ready is built for Solopreneurs, Consultants, Indie hackers, and Builders who value time. If you enjoy configuring Unix systems and debugging installations, DIY may be a better fit. If you want OpenClaw running reliably without the setup phase, this is for you.
Is this affiliated with Apple or OpenClaw?
No. OpenClaw Ready is an independent service that configures Apple hardware with OpenClaw installed.
Installation & Setup
Is OpenClaw hard to install?
It depends on your experience. If you're deeply comfortable with Unix systems and dependency management, you may find it manageable. If you're not, installation can involve:
- Homebrew setup
- Dependency conflicts
- Launch errors
- Linux-first documentation
- Terminal troubleshooting
OpenClaw Ready removes that process entirely.
What version of macOS does it run on?
Your Mac Mini ships with the current supported macOS version compatible with OpenClaw at the time of configuration.
Can I reinstall or reset the system later?
Yes. However, reinstalling macOS or modifying core configurations may require reinstallation of OpenClaw and related dependencies. Ongoing support is available if you need assistance.
Hardware Questions
What Mac Mini model is included?
The base OpenClaw Ready system includes the current base model Mac Mini available from Apple at the time of purchase. You may upgrade memory and storage during configuration.
Do I need more RAM for local AI models?
Larger or more complex local models require more memory. The base configuration works well for lightweight and mid-sized models. If you plan to run larger local models with the Pro tier, upgraded memory is strongly recommended.
Why not just use a VPS?
A VPS requires server management, SSH access, and recurring maintenance. A Mac Mini provides a local Unix-based environment with direct access, zero recurring hosting fees, and dedicated physical hardware.
Ollama & Local Models (Pro Tier)
What is included in OpenClaw Ready Pro?
OpenClaw Ready Pro includes Ollama pre-installed, 1-2 recommended local models configured, and guidance on when to use local vs API models to reduce reliance on paid tokens.
Will local models eliminate API costs?
Local models can reduce API usage, but they do not replace all cloud model capabilities. Some workflows may still benefit from OpenAI or Anthropic APIs. The Pro tier helps you make cost-conscious decisions.
Support
What support is included?
Every system includes 30 days of email support after delivery. Optional ongoing support is available for $129/month.
Do you proactively monitor my system?
No. We do not proactively monitor or access your system. Your Mac is yours. Support is reactive and provided via email when requested.
Does support include general Mac troubleshooting?
No. Support covers OpenClaw and related AI configuration issues only. It does not include general macOS troubleshooting or unrelated software support.
Orders & Shipping
When will my system ship?
Systems ship in approximately 2 weeks from order confirmation. This includes hardware delivery to us, custom configuration, testing, and outbound shipping.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, OpenClaw Ready ships within the United States only.
Can I cancel my order?
Due to the custom nature of hardware configuration, orders cannot be canceled once the Mac Mini has been purchased.
Security & Access
Do you access my system after delivery?
No. We do not access your system unless support is explicitly requested and temporary permission is granted. Your data stays private on your local hardware.
